We are often exposed to view points or behaviours that are seemingly mutually exclusive, yet on their own fully conclusive. They are presented to us as « either-or » options, as « the one-or-the other » opinions or acts, and in many cases are we requested – if not coerced – to make a choice, whether it is a moral, a political or an emotional one.
This binary decision-making, its implication of a « black-and-white » understanding of the world is often at odds with our understanding of self, our feelings and desires, and the multi-facetedness of the human condition in general.
However, there appears to exist acts and thoughts which can’t co-exist in one mind, in one body, where one has to disappear for the other to be fully embraced. Is this a dilemma that can be overcome by choice? How does the act of choosing look like when it travels through the body, how is the dilemma experienced in the body? How much control do we have over our choices? What happens if none of the options are good?
I am searching for the byproduct of the collision, of the « innegotiable », the « impossible ». I am not proposing means to resolve the conflict, by creating a « cathartic fifth act », I want to instigate the clash and observe what emerges from it when it is acute.

Dans la vie de tous les jours, nous sommes souvent confrontés à des points de vue ou des comportements qui semblent s’excluer mutuellement, mais qui – en tant que tels – sont parfaitement logiques. Souvent, nous sommes contraints, voire même forcés de choisir entre eux ne laissant pas de place au doute ou à une tierce option. Ce choix peut être de l’ordre politique, moral ou bien émotionnel.

Cette manière binaire de prendre une décision et la compréhension manichéenne du monde qui y est inhérente, se trouvent souvent en conflit avec nos sentiments, nos désirs et la multiplicité de la condition humaine en général.

Ma prétention est qu’il existe pourtant des actes et des pensées qui ne peuvent coexister en un esprit, en un corps. Il y a certains qui doivent disparaitre afin que d’autres puissent être entièrement installés.
Est-ce un dilemme que l’on peut surmonter par l’acte de choisir? Comment un tel acte se présente-t-il, quand il traverse le corps? Comment le dilemme est-il vécu par le corps?
A-t-on du contrôle sur nos choix? Et que fait-on, quand toutes nos options sont mauvaises?

Je suis à la recherche du produit secondaire de la collision, de l' »innégotiable ».
Je ne propose pas de stratégies de résolution de ce conflit en créant un cinquième acte cathartique, mais je provoque le heurt et j’observe ce qui s’ensuit dans l’instant aigu.

Oft treffen wir auf verschiedene Standpunkte oder Verhaltensweisen, die sich scheinbar gegenseitig ausschließen, jedoch für sich selbst völlig schlüssig zu sein scheinen.
Wenn diese Standpunkte aufeinanderstoßen, präsentieren sie sich in der Regel in einer “Entweder-Oder”-Dialektik und erzwingen vom Menschen eine Wahl, die je nach Situation moralischer, politischer oder emotionaler Natur sein kann.

Der Akt des “binären” Entscheidungsprozesses sowie das implizite Verständnis von einer scharf getrennten Schwarz-Weiß-Welt befinden sich häufig im krassen Widerspruch zu dem menschlichen Selbstverständnis, seinen Gefühlen, Wünschen und der Vielgestaltheit des menschlichen Lebens an sich.

Dem eingedenk scheint es jedoch Handlungen und Gedanken zu geben, die in einem Geist, in einem Körper, nicht miteinander existieren können. Etwas muß gehen, damit das andere aufgenommen werden kann. Wie sieht der Akt der Wahl aus, wenn er sich im Körper breitmacht, wie wird ein Dilemma vom Körper erlebt?
Wieviel Kontrolle haben wir über unsere Entscheidungen? Was geschieht, wenn keine der zu wählenden Optionen gut ist?

Ich suche nach dem Nebenprodukt eines Zusammenstoßes, dem “Nichtvereinbaren”, dem “Unmöglichen”. Ich bin nicht daran interessiert, Lösungen des Konfliktes anzubieten, indem ich einen katharrtischen fünften Akt schaffe, ich provoziere den Knall und beobachte, was aus ihm hervorgeht, wenn er akut ist.
