View points or behaviours that are seemingly mutually exclusive, presented as « either-or » options with the request to make a moral, a political or an emotional choice. This binary decision-making, its implication of a « black-and-white » understanding of the world is often at odds with our understanding of self, our feelings and desires, and the multi-facetedness of the human condition in general. How does the act of choosing look like when it travels through the body, how is the dilemma experienced? How much control do we have over our choices? I am not proposing means to resolve the conflict, by creating a « cathartic fifth act », I want to instigate the clash and observe what emerges from it when it is acute.
Des points de vue ou des comportements qui semblent s’exclure mutuellement, présentés comme des options « ou bien ou bien » avec la contrainte de faire un choix moral, politique ou émotionnel. Cette prise de décision binaire, qui implique une compréhension du monde noir-et-blanc, est souvent en contradiction avec notre compréhension de nous-mêmes, de nos sentiments et de nos désirs, avec les multiples facettes de la condition humaine en général. À quoi ressemble l’acte de choisir lorsqu’il traverse le corps, comment le dilemme est-il vécu ? Quel contrôle avons-nous sur nos choix ? Je ne propose pas de résoudre le conflit en créant un « cinquième acte cathartique », je veux provoquer le conflit et observer ce qui en émerge lorsqu’il est aigu.
Sicht- und Verhaltensweisen, die sich scheinbar gegenseitig ausschließen, werden als « Entweder-oder »-Optionen präsentiert, mit der Aufforderung, eine moralische, politische oder emotionale Entscheidung zu treffen. Diese binäre Entscheidungsfindung, die ein « Schwarz-Weiß »-Verständnis der Welt impliziert, steht oft im Widerspruch zu unserem Selbstverständnis, unseren Gefühlen und Wünschen, dem Facettenreichtum des menschlichen Daseins im Allgemeinen. Wie sieht der Akt des Wählens aus, wenn er den Körper durchläuft, wie wird das Dilemma erlebt? Wie viel Kontrolle haben wir über unsere Entscheidungen? Ich kann den Konflikt nicht lösen, indem ich einen « kathartischen fünften Akt » schaffe. Ich will den Konflikt auslösen und beobachten, was dabei herauskommt, wenn er akut ist.
